CYA Ward Served! Cont’d
Bob Maroun went to the CYA facility in Ventura
today to serve an 18 year old female ward with a
Civil Suit for “Gassing” an Officer. Bob stated
that the Ward was surprised and gasped “I’m being
sued?” The Ward looked helplessly at the counselor
who was escorting her as if to say, "What do I
do?”

During his Court Appearance C/O Sorensen recounted
the following story to Task Force Staff Member
Scott Whaley. Sorensen said inmate Boyd had been
gloating to staff at an outside hospital that he
had himself transferred there so that he would
miss the Sorensen court date and Sorensen would
not be able to win his case. Well again the Inmate
was WRONG! LOL! C/O Sorensen also told Scott that
ever since being served with the Law Suit papers
I/M Boyd’s number of assaults had dwindled down to
NONE. Sorensen said that Boyd was known for
gassing and attempting to assault staff, but since
being served he has been much quieter and less
assaultive. That’s our Goal, “Keep your hands and
fluids off staff and we’ll keep our hands out of
your Pockets”.
